A STEAMER FOR THE NEW HEBRIDES.
A new eteamer, which has Seen built by Mr Charles Dunn, of BerryV Bay, will shortly bo leaving Sydney for tho New . Hebrides. The vceeel has bcon named the Epi. and will be taken on her long voyage by Captain A. Oyston and a cr«*w of six. She haa been built for Mr Hugh Roxburgh, of Epi, New Hebrides, end after leaving Sydney will pro-, ceed to Vila, where she will take in fresh provisions and continue her journey. The Epi is a vessel of 40 tone, and is 70ft long, 16ft broad, and 7ft Gin deep. Sho is constructed of hardwood bottom and kauri topsides. She is the first vopsel of her typo to bo built in Sydney, and will burn oil fuel. Her furnaces may, however, bo converted at short notice to allow of the use of coal fuel. The Epi is to be used in the New Hebrides as a trading and recruiting veeycl, and it is expected that she will have a epeed of 7 or S knots. She will take about 43 tons of cargo in her, thie mostly consisting of kerowno. Captain Oyston, who has charge of the Epi, recently took tho small vceacl Bruce to Rabaul.
