MOROS GIVING TROUBLE. (By Cable.—Prose Association.—Copyright.) (Received January 30th, 9.50 p.m.) BRISBANE. January 30. - Reports to hand by Eastern steamers show that the United States is experiencing considerable trouble in the Philippines in subduing the Moros. Recently the Moros ambus_ed an American officer and hacked him to pieces. The opinion is expressed in some quarters that the Philippines are likely to secure independence. It is considered in that event that serious trouble will be experienced by the Filipinos, who will be unable to cope with the Moros.
