CORRESPONDENCE.
—• THE TOWN HALL SITE. TO THE EBITOU OF "THE PRESS." Sir, —Your correspondent. "Ratepayer Xo. 2," euroly does not consider that a few letters signed by irresponsible writers are In danger of committing the citizens to ar. unwise expenditure of their money. At least, they can only be an iudiefition iv which direction the popular wish blows. The point I wish to make is that in carrying your correspondent's desire, viz.. that "the Christchurch Town Hall should be second to none i»i the Dominion," a hasty decision should not take place as to the site chosen and the money spent on it, but whatevor is done should b« in the direction of beautifying the town without trespassing on Victoria square, and. lastly, almost regardless of expense—because if we cannot get into that frame of mind we bad better not attempt it.—'Yours, etc.. RATEPAYER.
