PROTEST.
(Received January 30th, 0.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 29. Tho Labour Conference adopted a resolution moved by Mr R. Meagher, protesting against tho action of the South African Government in deporting tho ton Labour leaders. The Australian Workers' Union carried a similar motion, also a resolution strongly protesting against Mr Glynn's statement that if Maltese labourers camo to tho Northern Territory they would be welcome. This statement arose out of tho Dominions Commission's report suggesting tho suitability of Maltose. PORTFOLIOS ALLOTTED.
