WAIMATE.
The County Council yesterday, voted£3. Os towards the finishing of the now waterside workers' hall, erected by the Harbour Board at Timaru. The Council took the view that in improving; their own property, they were also providing comfortable waiting accommodation for the men. The tender of H. Broadhead, at £247 10s, has been accepted by the Borough Council for the extension of the storm water underground concrete drain through the baths reserve. The dangerous turning on Point Bush road, between Waimate and Hiwiroa. is to be obviated by the County Council agreeing to take over a email piece of land bought by a few residents interested and dedicated to the Council, that body undertaking to clear off a gorse fence and rofence the corner, •whir 1 * hae long - been spoken of as a death-trap.
