"(steciai, to "the rnEss. , ') HOKITIKA, January 28. The Westland Racing Club, haa issued an attractive programme for its Autumn Ho«ting,- which 13 to bo held on April"lath. The stakes total £550 for the one day Ueeting, being an advance of 25 per cent, on the amount given last year. Tie principal c-rent is the Autumn Handicap, of 120 soys. There tiro five other galloping events, and in.no rase aro tho stakes for any raco less than 60 eovs. In addition, there aro oJso two j trotting "races oa tho programme, worth al-j together £130. so that the card is a very at-'i tractive ono ior outside owners. All nominations aro fired to close on April 3rd. Mr D. H. Roberts, of Grcymouth, will be the honorary judge for the Meeting, end tho handicapping is again in the hands of Mr J. Nobles of iieeiton. Tho Race Meeting rftould be the special holiday attraction of tho Eastor festivities on the Coast.
