MURDER OF REEKS.
POLICE SEARCHING FOR RAMSDENVALUELESS CLUES. (By Cable.—Press Arsociatkm.—Copyright.) LONDON, January 27. Tho police have decided that Ramsden, discovered at Leeds, was not Recks- companion. Ho proved that he had not travelled by the Empress of Ireland. Tho police aro again searching for tho real Ramsden. Tho suspected motor-car in thc Reekcase has been traced, but the police aro satisfied that it was not connected with tho crime. Deceased's companion at Liverpool has given a satisfactory explanation of bis movements. H** travelled to England by a different steamer, and met Reeks accidentally at an hotel. Mrs Cartwright, a relative of Reeks, residing at Swindon, Staffordshire, states that seeing his portrait in the paper was her first intimation of Reeks's death, which occurred within four miles of her house. Sho did not know if ho intendod to visit her. The police at Wolverhampton aro satisfied that tho motor incident at the Swan public-house, where two mon left their drinks unconsumed, is uot connected with the tragedy.
