In the Police Court to-day, Albert Brodie Hall, hairdresser, South Dunedin, was charged that, on October Uth, being occupier of certain premises, to wit, a hairdresser's shop in South Dunedin. he did usu the same as a common gaming house; on OctoCer 9fch, he did assist in conducting a lottery; on October 9th, he did receive from one Ernest Walter Perry 5s for a ticket in a lottery, to wit, Tatjfcersall's monster cash prize consultations on the Melbourne Cup, promoted at Ho'oart: on Octolwr 9th, he did sell for 5s a ticket by which permission was given to,. Ernest Walter Perry to ha\*e an interest in Tattersall's monster cash prizo consultations, promoted in Hobart. On the application of tho police, Gs was substituted for os. Evidence was riven by Constable Perry that 7to purchased a ticket from defendant, who said he was an agent, I aii'l couM jr p t « ticket ftt any timf*. Defendant denied the sale of the ticket, Blat : nj; that he had not sold them for six nr seven months. The Magistrate, Mr Widdowson, intimated that- he would consider the orldeniv. nnd would let it be known if ] ho wanted any argument on the law. I
