MAKURA FROM VANCOUVER.
Although the Canadian-Australasian mat! eteamer Makura was over a week later than time-table date in arriving at Vancouver from Auckland and way ports, the veasel rapidly discharged her largo inward cargo from Australia and New Zealand, and loaded outward cargo. Adx-ice has been received by the Union Company to the effect that tho Makura was despatched from Vancouver at 3 p.m. on Wednesday last (time-table date) for Auckland and Sydney via Honolulu and Suva. Although the present is not tho season when large numbers of praeengera loave the Canadian port (says the Auckland "Herald"), the popularity of the MaJrara is shown by the fact that she is bringing 260 passengers in all classes for all ports. The liner, which is due at Auckland on Tuesday, 10th February, has also on board 710 tons* of Canadian merchandise for Auckland and other ports of New Zealand. Of the amount of cargo being brought 140 tons will be transhipped to Wellington and other southern porta.
