SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

« Members of the Sumner School Committee met on Tuesday evening, when details in connexion with the annual school excursion and picnic were discussed. The Public Domain, Dunsandel, has been selected for the outing, which is fixed for Wednesday, February 11th. The arrangements provided by tho railway authorities were deemed satisfactory. A special train is to leave the railway station at 9.5 a.m., arriving at Dunsandel at ten o'clock. The return train will leave the latter station at 6.20 p.m.. and arrive in Christchurch at 7.17 p.ni. Special tramcare from Sumner will connect up with the trains. A special meeting of the committee ie convened for next Friday evening, when the picnic and other matters are to be more fully considered. A fine roomy bookcase, to contain the school library, has, during the holidays, been placed in position in the - main corridor. The school re-opens on Monday next.
