CHEVIOT.

The annual meeting of subscribers to the Cheviot Coronation Library was held on Monday. Mr C. W. Ross presiding. The balance-sheet showed a casn balance of £7 Gs sd, with outstanding liabilities amounting to £7 10s. The following committee was elected:—Messrs Ross, Allan, Sweeney. Murgatroyd, M. Flaherty, jun.. J. Hilling, jun., and L. Langasen. Mr LangeA sen was elected chairman, Mr Sweeney' hon. secretary and treasuror, and Mrs Bellwood librarian. Messrs Langesen, j Ross, and Sweeney were elected a Selec- I tion' Committee, and were given full j power to ban any book from tho shelves they considered undesirable. It was resolved to call in all books by February 15th, and close the library for one week to take stock and re-arrange the volumes.
