Wool —Tho wool sales close to-day. Tho market has been strong, and the tone improved as the sales progressed. There has been a good demand from the Continent and the Homo trade is moro activo than during tho previous series. America has taken about 5000 bales, chiefly confined to best grades, medium and fine crossbreds. American buyers are expected to operate moro freely later on. Crossbreds improved from Jd to Id, chiefly owing to a temporary scarcity. Estimated values are:—Superior merinos, ls Id to Is 2d: medium. lOd to lid; inferior, 8d to 9"-d; fine crossbreds, all grades, is OJd to is 2d ; medium crossbreds, nil grades, 10jd to ll'd; coarse crossbreds. nil grades. Hid to lid. One thousand bales of New Zealand wool wero held over, nearly all old stock. The Bradford trade is gradually improving, with prospects of cheap money, and the outlook is favourable.
