A Roman Catholic dignitary has addressed to his co-religionists in tho Army and the Navy, a pastoral letter, in which he declares that luxury, extravagance, and the search for pleasure are every day attaining greater dimensions, and form a serious menace to the well-being of the individual and the family. Modem dances and other forms of. amusement do not aim at beneficial relaxation, but at excitement of the senses, while- tho majority of the theatres disseminate immorality. Field-?ilarshal Fekete, Commander of the Budapest garrison, has announced that women have overstepped the furthest limits of propriety by appearing in slit, s-kirts, and declares military meu must inform the women of their families that these will uot be permitted at military functions. At a big gathering to celebrate the anniversary of the first Anglican service held in Australia, 126 years ago, the Primate, in his address, said it was sometimes said that the women of Australia had forgotten something of the dignity of their womanhood in decorum of manner and decorum of dress. He did not believe that this was true as a whole, and even if true now and again, he was certain that the women of Australia would rise and take care that these things should not bo, because - tho solemn charge they had for the future.
