A conference of postal employees at Leicester renewed the demand for a 15 per cent, increase, but rejected, by a majority of two, proposals to adopt a strike policy and to make a compact with the railwaymen, miners, and transport workers. The conference empowered the delegates .to request the National Joint Committee to summon a Postal Congress.
