Mr Uiddell reserved his decision to-<kiy relative to threo charges again*t Margaret MrTntosh, licensee of the Royal TigfT Hotel. near tho Buckle- street barracks, of keoping her premise-s open for tho sale of liquor when thov wore ordero-d to be closed, and of scllinn and exposing liquor for sn!<? during that timo.
A hnimaki was also charged with supplying liquor.
In tJiis Citso tho decision was also reserved.
Mrs Molntosh's defence was that thorf« was no ovidence that tumult was expected at or near the hotel.
<At the Magistrate's Court, Robert James Seal plendwl {guilty to a charge of threatening behaviour on the King's "Wharf on tho occasion when the barricade was demolished and the steamer Riinntnka rushed, and was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment, and ordered to find a bond of £50 and two .Mire,ties of £25 each to keep the peace for six months.
Richard Prince admitted assaulting an employee- of the New Zealand Express Company. Prince is a carter, formerely employed by the Express Company, but now on strike. He was fined 40s, or seven days' imprisonment.
