METHODS OP WHITE SLAVE

PROCURERS

HORRIBLE DISCLOSURES.

LIGHT SHED ON MYSTERIES

CTinn-a-STdcey 'Sun" Special Cs.b!e.) (Received December Stb, 6.10 p.m.)

NEW YORK, December 7

Lurid revelations as to tho methods of procurers engaged in tho -white slave traffic are expected in New York, following on the arrest of Armand Megaro, i a young South American chemist's assistant, who is charged with administering a drug with a hypodermic syringe to Mrs Marjorie Graff, tho fortnight-old bride of a Newark civil engineer. The woman was sitting in a box at a New Jersey cinematograph theatre, and Megaro took a scat next to her. Suddenly she folt a sharp prick in tho arm, and immediately found that she was becoming numb. She managed io retain her senses, however, and staggered to a dressing-room. She informed the attendants of what had happened, and then collapsed, but later on recovered sufficiently to be able to lead the police to tho box, whoro Megaro was still sitting. Accused was arrested, strongly protesting his innocence. He- was released on bail of £4000. The polico believe that Megaro's arrest will clenr un numerous mysterious disappearances of young girls. A similar case is also reported. A girl was drinking an ice cream soda when two men seated alongsido her injected a drug. Tho girl retained her senses sufficiently to call the attendants. Tho men claimed relationship, but tho attendants, being suspicious, called tho police. The men made off. Tho poison used is possibly a "wellknown South American poison, which produces vertigo nivd drowsiness. Tho cases in which tho drug is used principally occur in darkened cinematograph halls, the girls being kidnapped and removed to South American vie© haunts.
