AKAROA REGATTA POSTPONED

A meeting of the Akaroa Regatta Committee wae held on Saturday evening to consider the advisability of" postponing tho fixture till a later date. There was a fair attendance, Mr G. Armstrong (commodore) presiding. The secretary reported having having received an indefinite reply as to an excursion boat, and that tho entries received were very email, only fivo clubs being represented, and in several events there was only one entry. A long discussion ensued, and it was finally decided that, in view of the paucity of entries, it was inadvisable to carry out the regatta on Anniversary Day. A motion to postpone the fixture till Easter Monday was carried unanimously, for which date it was definitely fixed, and tbe Canterbury Rowing Association notified to that effect.
