GRAND THEATRE.
The Grand Theatre was patroDised by large crowds of spectators at all sessions yesterday, when a now programme was presented. The star picture, "A Sicilian Tragcdv " is one ot Cines domestic dramas which deals with love, hatred and revenge. Grusilla, an Italian peasant girl, is in love with Nino, and the girl's brother Turiddu forbids -Nino, owing to his bad habits, to keep company with Tiis sister. Nino, tho lover, vows vengeance on tho brother ; and in revenge burns down the milking shed with the stock. The brother suspects the lover as tho cause of the fire, and eventually shoots the lover, who recovers, whilst the brother, in a fit of cowardice, runs away and hides with the connivance of a shepherd. Mary, a younger sister, visits the brother, and brings him food ard news, and whilst doing so is tracked by the lover, who finnlly'puts the carabinneers (police , ), on to his track. The brother now seeks a new place of shelter, and whilst patrolling through the woods sees his sister in company with Nino. The orchestra contributed nnnrnnrinto music, including a selection of Russian songs.
