Preparations are being made for the Kaiapoi Rose Show, which takes place on Saturday next, entries closing -on Thursday.
A picture entertainment wae given on Friday evening, in the Volunteer Drill Hall, for the [District High School prize fund, half the takings being handed to the committee.- There, was a crowded hall. Mr T. R. Leithead, chairman of the Committee, moved » vote of thanks to the proprietary, which was enthusiastically carried.
