ST. ALBANS v. WEST CHRISTCHURCH.
St. Albans felt the loss of Sandnian ! and Hiekmott at the bowling crease, and the first pair of batsmen, Walters* and Matthews, put on 81 before the latter was run out, as the result of a magnificent bit of fielding by Bishop. Bryan-Brown followed, but lost Waters at 54. With Donnelly and Bryan-Brown together, the St. AJbans bowling was more than collared—it was demoralised, and the second century went up for twp and a half hours' play. Three hours' play saw the total at 270. The total was 28S before Bryan-Brown was bowled after passing his century in just under three hours. Young did not stay long. With Crawshaw in Donnelly reached his century, but was caught at short leg just afterwards. Young soon followed him back,-but Loudon hit up 34 quickly, and the 400 went up in under the four hours. The innings closed soon after. Scores:— "WEST CHRISTCHUKCH. Firet Innings. H. Waters, b Brunton ..54 Matthews, run out .. .. ..40 Rev. Bryan-Brown, b Lamb .. ... 107 A. T.
