MR LAURENSON AND A NEW UNION.
TO THE EDITOR OP "THB TRESS."
Sir,—l was asked at Opawa if I had been at a meeting when a certain union had been formed. My reply was, that a man came to my office to borrow some ink and blotting-paper, and also asked if I would mind taking it up to the room. I did 60, and left the room immediately. My reply was.considered satisfactory, but I am informed that Mr James Thorn last night gave mo the lie direct, and stated that I had been in the room half an hour. Now, I would oblige anyone in tho way/ I did, and if Mr Thorn, or anyone else, had asked mc, I would have taken ink, etc., to the Trades' Hall if Mr Thorn was pressed for time. To settle tho matter, Sir Thorn might ask anyone who was in that room, how long I stayed. I say I was ffot half a minute, and Mr Thorn cays half an hour.Yours, etc., JAS. B. LAURENSON.
