AT DUNEDIN.

SEAMEN ANXIOUS TO RESUME. (SPBCIAL TO "THE TBESS.") DUNEDIN, December 6. The Federationists are said to be remaining firm, and it is claimed there have been very few, if any, defections from their ranks. The Harbour Board is resuming work with a greatly reduced staff. The general opinion is that if the seamen return to work the waterside workers' strike must be speedily ended, and it is common knowledge that the majority of the seamen are anxious to get back to their ships. The Mayor of Port Chalmers (Mr Mawßon) is calling a meeting of the business people of the town for Tuesday evening to consider matters in connexion with the strike and its effects.
