BECHUANALAND.
A DIAMOND RUSH. C'TittM"-Sjdn«j "Sun" SpteiaJ C»bl«.) CAPE TOWN, December 4. There has been a tremendous rush to the alluvial diggings at Killarney, twenty-four miles from Taungs,, British Bechuanaland. Twelve hundred men pegged out claims in the presence of thousands of spectators. There were scenes of the wildest excitement. The gravel is apparently'spread over a large area, but is extremely shallow, varying from a yard to sis inches. Experienced prospectors consider that the rush is not warranted. The outlook for women and children is bad, water and food being scarce.
