THE WAIHI MINE. (fbess association* telegram.) AUCKLAND, December 5. The Waihi return for tho four-weekly period ended 22nd November is £25,376, from 14,722 tons. This brings the. total output to date to £10,109,532. ROSS GOLDFIELDS, LTD. (press association telegram.) HOKITIKA, December o. The following telegram was sent to Auckland from Roes to-day by Mr G.jjavis chairman oi directors of the E«e Goldfields, Ltd.):—"Work in the mine is proceeding to my satisfaction, and the output will be gradually increased. The superintendent (Mr J. Cock) and tho engineer (Ifr J. Templing are both confident that 6000 trucks can be handed weekly by the present plant, when sufficient payable ground ie opened up to make room for the required number of men to carry on systematic driving and blocking operations. Although values have not y«t reached th« amount generally anticipated by shareholders, the present returns are paying all expenses, and when we I'commence handling a reasonable output, these values should be highly payable. For the purpose of bulk sampling, all hands have been employed eolely in the sixth level for tho last twenty-Four hours. The restilt is equal to tho returns from the Caesius working. One drive .south, lCOft, and one east 120 ft. on the eixth level, passed thr^ , -* vasb of even, value, end similaT vahioe chow in all the face* at this level. The plant, mcbdin" the Dieeel engine, is in excellent ordi'r and working excellently. Further supplies of fuel have arrived in Hokitika.
