COUNTY COUNCILS.

TAWEIIA. The adjourned annual meeting of tho Tawera County Council-wag held on Monday. Present—Messrs "Seymour (chairman). Mill-ken, O'Sliaughncssy, and Ilutlcdge. Mr Seymour was reelected chairman. Mr O'Shaughnessy took his seat as a councillor, and was warmly welcomed by the members. After the annual meeting tho ordinary meeting was held. Mr Doody interviewed the council with respect to metalling the road to his land. After considerable discussion, it was resolved to call tenders for metalling about 30 chains of tho road, and if the cost was not excessive to have it done. The tender of P. Eushton for the lease of 15 acres of land adjoining rural section 10,068 was accepted. .The clerk was instructed to write to the Public Works Department pointing out the dangerous nature of the railway crossing at the approach, to the Mount Whito bridge.
