ASHBURTON.
The Hampstead School children, together with the Waknimi. Senview, Green street, and Riverside children, held the':r annual pi-mic at Timaru yesterday in fine but cloudy weather. A special train consisting of fifteen carriages left Ashburton shortly after 8 o'clo-k, and on arrival at Timaru were provided with hot water, milk, and sugar. Despite the rawness of the day, the children and their friends spent an enjoyable day at Caroline Bay. and returned to Ashburton about 8.15 p.m.
