ARAROA.
A practical examination in the cookery department of the Peninsula Technical School was held at Akaroa on Tuesday last. The examination was carried out by Miss Lynskey, instructress. Tho f olio win % were successful: —Senior division: Lorna Armstrong and Mary Checkley. Junior division: Morven Fergus. Neatest notebook: Ethel Pilkin?rton.
. The monthly meeting of the Akaroa District High School was held on Wednesday, Messrs J. R. Newton (chairman). J. S. Dodds, C. W. Leete, and Rev. J. W. Hayward being present The inspector's report was received. Tlie committee expressed pleasure at the excellent report, and a motion was passed congratulating the teaching staff. It was decided that the school holidays be . from December 19th to February 2nd, 1914. .
