OVERDUE MOTOR BOAT.
Some anxiety was expressed at Lytteiton last night regarding the safety of John Duffel and Samuel Bam ford, two well-known watersiders, who left on Monday afternoon in a small motor boat owned by E. Gillard, for Pigeon Bay, where they intended to do some fishing. Up till late la§t night they had not returned, and as the weather has been very bad since Monday, fears were expressed that some mishap had befallen the men. The police received information that a motor boat was seen in Pigeon Bay at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. More reassuring news was brought by the 6mall steamer Monica, whose master stated that he had sighted three motor boats at anchor in Pigeon Bay yesterday evening.
