Nominations for the Stratford Racing Club's Annual Meeting, Waikouaiti Kacing Club's Annual Meeting, and Greymouth Jockey Club's Midsummer Meeting, close this evening. ' The programme of the Halswell Sports Club's Annual Meeting, to be held on Boxing Day, includes three trotting events, the Halswell Cup, Melroso Handicap, nnd Santa Rosa Handicap. No acceptance fees are charged .for , 'any ono-of these events.' The Horofata Hacing Club has received excellent acceptances for its Annual Meeting, to be held on Saturday next. In the ■ Farmers , Hack Handicap and Snowdon Trot Handicap, all the horses handicapped have been paid ud for. and in most of the other races there havo been very few scratchings. Accordine; to the Continental corresnondent of a London paper, the Grand Flanenr horse Parthian, winner of the V.R.C. and A..J.C. St. Legers of 1900, ran in a race in Germany quite recently. A few months ago he was passed in at auction at 3ogs, in Ireland, and then found his way to Germany. As .Parthian is seventeen ynars old, and had been at the stud for about ten years: it is almost unnecessary to say ho finished last.
