SELWYN.
At the monthly meeting of the Selwyn County Council there were present: —Messrs K. Wilson (chairman), Hockridge, Payne, Murchison, and W. i Hall. It was decided to mako application to the Commissioner of Crown Lands foi thirds and fourths, and to inform him that plans will be prepared for a stock bridge to give access to Kun No. 88. The surveyor reported that the shingling of Itonaldsons road had been completed, and that the contracts for formation of part of Sharland's road and the erection of Farfield bridge wero Hearing completion. It was <iecided to improve the approach to the £lendore Creek ford on Iliversleigh road, and to repair the road to Rocl:----wood. Permission was given Messrs Weaver and Gemmell to plough the side of the road opposite their respective properties for the purpose of destroying gorse, etc. The AuditorGeneral returned the half-yearly bal-ance-sheet, to which ho had certified. The Public Works Department wrote with regard to erecting the poles for the Lake Coleridge electrical works. It was decided -to ask that they "be placed not more than six'feet from the fence lines along roads, and that on Leach's track the poles be placed on the north side of the road. It was decided to sue for all rates not paid by December 31st. At the annual meeting Mr K. Wilson was re-elected chairman, and a vote- of thanks was passed to tho chairman for his cervices during the past year,
