HIGH COMMISSIONER'S GOOD WORK.
LONDON, December 1. The Hon. T. Mackenzie has induced tho Port of London Authority to abolish discounts on storage rates which are of advantage to the largo meat producers against smaller competitors. The Port Authority has also reduced the rates from 22s 9d a ton to 20s 9d for the fir&t month, and from 20s, to 18s 6d for the second month.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, Christchurch,, have received the following cable, dated London, November 27th:—Wool sales continue firm and lately reported rates are fully maintained. As compared with last sales, scoured faulty merino wools are rather lower, and good merino pieces rather higher. . American buyers are operating slightly, especially elipes.
