DROP IN PRICES.

(-"BESS ASSOCIATION TEL-GUAM.) NAPIER, December 1. Tho first wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 14,885 hales were offered. There was a full bench of buyers, and competition was keen at reduced limits. Buyers' limits did not come up to vendors' ideas of value, and in consequence a large quantity of wool was passed in. The quality of tho wool was not as good as last year, being heavier in grease and shorter in staple. There was. an all-round drop in prices of .d to 2Jd compared with values at the December sal© last year. The range of prices was as follows:— Best halfbred ll.d to 13_d. Medium halfbred 10id to lid. Fine crossbred lOd to Hid. Medium crossbred 9d to lO.d. Coarse crossbred 8d to lOd. Inferior 7_d to BJd. Pieces s£d to 9Jd. Bellies 6Jd to 7Jd. Locks 4_d to s_d. Lambs BJd to 103 d. Dead to 7id.
