NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL.
The New Zealand Cricket "Council held a meeting yesterday afternoon, Mr G. F. Francis presiding. Tho headmaster of the Auckland Grammar School" notified the Council that they wero willing to contest the Heathcote-Williams Challenge Shield on December 17th, at Christchurch. A letter was also received from the Canterbury Cricket Association, guaranteeing £15 towards the expenses of the fourteenth man for the Australian team. It was decided, therefore, to send T. Carlton with the team.
