ULIMAROA LAID UP.
CONFERENCE ADJOURNS.
NEGOTIATIONS PROCEEDING WITH SHIPPING FIRMS.
(Received December Snd, 1.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 1. The Ulimaroa was unable to get a crew, and was laid up. The fares paid by intending passengers were returned. Cargo loaded for New Zealand five weeks ago is still in the holds. Tho big unionist conference was adjourned till to-morrow. The meeting of the iron Trades' Federation and" the Seamen's Union have been postponed pending the decision of the conference. It is understood that negotiations are proceeding between representatives of tho conference and the shipping companies, but the nature of them has not transpired.
