(TOESS ASSOCIATIO- t-i_c___.) 1 WEI__INGTON, Docembor 1. f At a meeting to-day of the Council of tho Wellington Chamber of Oommerco, a resolution was adopted recording appreciation of the services of the mounted and foot special constables who assisted to maintain law and order during tho strike, " particularly those from the country who came in promptly to the assistance of" tho citizens at a time when the city was in a state of disorder. It was farther resolved that the firm and unhesitating support given by theGovernment to all necessary stope for the maintenance of law and order, and keeping open tho channels of commorce deswves the thanks of all citizens. Another resolution ox pressed appro- . ciation of tho work done by the masters, mates, and engineers of the, vessels working during the strike.
