Magistrate's -our*"; this morning, charged with absentmi themselves from tho ship without leave. Counsel said tho men had intimated that they wonld not work if they wore ; put on board. Tho magistrate (Mr Riddoll) said the _ men woro aware . what tho : penaltywould be if on boing placed on board thoy disobeyed commands on tho high seas. For tho present offence• theywould bo convicted and sentenced" t*>" fourteen days' imprisonment," with' tho direction that if the vessel sailed be-, foro tho expiry of the sentence, they ; should bo put on board. Tho firemen were returned- to the 'A. Opawa. which left port on her voyage to England.
