OPPORTUNITY OFFERED TO RETURN TO WORK.
LETTER FROM THE COMPANY. (mess asikv. _*iov te_eg_a_._ AUCKLAND. November 29. The directors of the Taupiri Coal Mines, Limited, havo decided to give miners on strike at Huntly an opportunity to return to work, under the terms of the agreement existing when the trouble was declared. The offer as indicated in tho following letter that has been sent by the company to the secretary of the Huntly Union, remains ■open till Thursday next:—"l am instructed by the directors of the Taupiri Coal Mines, Limited, to communicate with you on the subject of resumption of work. I have to remind you and members of your union that the mine* of this company have all alc-ng remained open for work, and I am directed to offer to members of your union who are now on strike an opportunity of going back to their work under the existing agreement. This offer wiU remain o.on until Thursday next,, December 4tfi, and I shall be glad of your reply by Wednesday 3rd I am also instructed to state that should your union disregard tnis
