THIRD GRADE.
West Christchurch B. were ma strong position against St. Albans 8., for they had scored 150 for two wickets in response to their opponents' 161. They carried their total to 398 (Donaldson *33, Miller 181, Crowley 33, Jerman 47 Fuller 24), and then dismissed St. Albans for 81 (Fletcher 11, Sandman 33 not out, Walker 10). West won by an innings and 156 runs. St. Albans had made 117, and Riccarton replied with 212. On Saturday St. Albans, in their second innings, made 193 (McLean 76, Jamieson not out 43, Carter 28, Francis 15, Doig 10). Se_rell, Bell, Hanna, and Down took the wickets. Riccarton made the required 103 for the loss of one wicket (McQuillan not out 63, Searell 45). Linwood B, 163,* and Christ's College, 153, continued their game on the College ground. Linwood's second attempt realised 81 (Shepherd 23, Clark 22, Evans 16). Rutherford, Gurnsey, and Hamilton took the wickets for College, who made the required 91 runs for the loss of six wickets (Macfarlane, not out 19, Blunt 18, Thomas 10, Tonks 13, Hamilton 13, Barnett 13). West' Christchurch A (198) and Boys High School (170) continued their matcll at Hagley Park. West, in their second venture, batting five short, made 195 (O'Donoghue 53, Bennett 44, Schmidt, not out, 41, Cooper 17). Nightingale and Corbett took the wickets. School made 183 for six wickets (Shaw, not out, 58, Connal, not out, 23, Oakley 32, Taylor 25, Corbett 14, Beattie 12). West won on tho first innings.
