CENTRAL METHODIST MISSION

During the past week the Rev. J. Flanagan has oonducted a mission which ha. been very successful. The congregations have increased every evening, and on Friday the Durham street South Church was crowded. Yesterday he conducted three services in the Grand Theatre. In the afternoon the building was crowded to listen to his address on "How I won Jack the Burglar." The audience was greatly moved as Mr Flanagan told the story, which was a revelation of the mighty power of Divine grace which could save one of the worst characters and make him become a real saint of God. For an hour and „ half the large audience listened to the story, gripped by the great gifts possessed by the lecturer. In the evening he preached to a congregation which crowded the Theatre.

To-night will be the last opportunity the people of Christchurch win have of listening to Mr Flanagan. He will deliver a lecture in the King's Theatre on -'Snapshots of Life in Underground London." The lecture will be illustrated by limelight views, unique pictures illustrating London back street life being shown. Mr Flanagan did "14 years' hard" in London's slums, and has a very interesting story to tell. The Mayor will preside.
