NEW BRIGHTON TROTTING CLUB.

At the Committee meeting, of the New Brighton Trotting Club, held on Thursday evening, final arrangements were made for the meeting to be held on 13th and 16th December. Both the match _wi th the American mate Lovelock v. the New. Zealand mare Emmeline, ar.d tbe New Brighton Cup, which is.a scratch event; free for all, wil' be started with a flying start. A tender was also accepted for alterations to the outside grand stand, and for the erection of 32 payout windows to the totalisator house, which will leave the present windows available for the sale of tickets only. The new starting device will probably be used for tha _rst occasion at this meeting. Arrangements were a so made with the C__stchu:ch Tramway Board, fcr coping with the very large attendance that is expected. It is probable that this long standing difficulty will b_ solved by allowing the empty car. _. return to town by tho electric route. It was repotted that the ___rove__n_ to th* road in

front of the track had been completed, which will very much aasiat vehicular traffic. NOTES. Acceptances for the Hororata Racing Club's Annual Meeting close this evening. Nominations for tho Greymouth Trotting Club's Summer Meeting close tomorrow evening. The Feilding Jockey Club's Spring Meeting will be brought to a conclusion to-day.

The field for tho York Stakes, to bo run at Feilding to-day, will be despatched from a newly-formed starting post, which , will provide a much straighter run out than the old one. This improvement will go a long way towards discounting the iuck of the draw tor positions. Tho Auckland horseman C. Browne headed the list of winning jockeys at the Takapuna Jockey Club's iSpnng Meeting held on "Wednesday and Saturday last. Altogether he rode four winners, while McDevitt and E. Murtagh each had a couple of victories, and the following each steered one winner: —H. Watson, A. Gordon, J. O'Shea, A. Greenwood, A. _ta_, H. Chaplin, J. Buchanan, and Robinson.

The nominations received for the Rakaia ltacing Club's Annual Meeting, which will be held on December 11th, must be considered very satisfactory, and an average of thirteen tor each race must bo espcciallv gratifying to the executive of the country club.
