The, "Daily Mail's" Calcutta correspondent eaye the general opinion in India is that Lord Hardinge hae made the confusion worse. The "Chronicle" says that neither General Botha nor Lord Hardinge have been careful in their language, and particularly regrets that the latter is undiplomatically adding fuel to the fir*'. ■
The "Daily News" nays it is incumbent on the Imperial Government to step in without delay. >
