(Bofore Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A "first offender pleaded guilty, and .was fined. 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. THE EFFECTS OF DRINK. A first offender, who had been discharged from the Lyttelton gaol on tho 19th inst., was charged with being found in a helpless condition, following tho effects of drink, tho same morning. Senior-Sergeant Ryan stated that tho gaol surgeon had notified that the man was too shaky to bo at liberty, and he was accordingly re-arrested and remanded for medical treatment. - It was known that the man had not procured liquor after he left the gaol. Hβ was convicted and ordered to pay medical expenses, amounting to 17s 6d. BROKEN ORDER. Robert John Boyd, who pleaded guilty to a charge of procuring liquor during tho currency of a prohibition order, was convicted and fined 10s. REMANDED. A charge against Robert Ibell of being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours was adjourned for two weeks. . .
