At tho fortnightly meeting "of the Kaiapoi Borough Council on Tuesday, there were present—Tho Mayor (Jlr It. Wylie), Crs., Dunn, Robb, Barnard, Ilinaldo Croft, Williams, and Revell. Tho Works' Committee, upon a letter threatening •an ■ action for' stoppage of Adam street, decided to erect a swing ga,te. Tho Reserves Committee recommended loasing the former fire station site.for 30 years, conditional on a building with brick outer walls being erected, costing not less than £500. Tho Committee could not recommend erecting a shelter hall at Kairaki at present, although it was much needed. Tho receipts were £171 U 10d and the overdraft £703 Hβ lOd.
