The Donartriient of Agriculturo has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner, oated London, November 25, regarding tile opening of. the sixth series of colonial woo! sales:— "Tho wool sales have commenced. Homo and Continental dealers are buy- ' mc freely, but Americans are holding off. The price of superior merinos ie unchanged, but all other wools arc on the average a halfpenny lower than at the last salo. About 40,000 bales of New i Zoaland wool have been catalogued." j Tho Bank of Now Zealand has reeeiv- I ed tho following cablo from its London I office:—Tho sales have opened with strong competition and large attendance of buyers, but without quotable change in prices. There is a good demand for ail kinds of wool. Total net quantity New Zealand available 40,000 bales. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Christchurch, has received the. following cablegram:—London Wool Sales —There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition being fairly active. Opening catalogues were fairly i representatives. A3 compared with last safe's closing rates, prices are about tho samo for coarso crossbred and merino, and about five per cent, lower for fine crossbred and medium crossbred. Tho National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Ltd., hat; received the following cablegram from its London office:—"Crossbreds, fine and medium, opened at a decline of 5 . per cent, on last sales' closing rates; other sorts remain unchanged. Continental buyers are operating freely." Dalgoty and Co., Limited, have received tho following London cable: —"Wool sales opened wifh a large attendance of buyers. There was a good selection, and tho'competition was animated - As compared with tho closing rates of last series, prices of merino wools, good quality and condition are unchanged. A change, if any, in heavy earthy arid wasty merino wools in in ! buyers' favour. Fine and medium erosebred wools aro par to 5 per cent lower, and coarso crossbred unchanged." AVHEAT.
