LYTTELTON HOTELS CLOSED.
On Monday night the hotelkeepers at Lyttelton received notice < that their licensed premises would be closed until further notice, and, consequently, none : of the eight hotels in the town was opened yesterday. ■ It was hinted In pertain quarters that the special : constables felt the inconvenience caused by the closing'of the. hotels, but such was not the case. ,-The men, tired after their early turn out, and march into the port, felt the heat on the wharves very" much, and the j water-taps, which arq snaced- somewhat far apart »along the wharves, provided much-lieeded refreshers.
