- There was a moderate attendance at the markets. In the stock yards there was an entry of 800 sheep, of which 200 were fat, 150 cattle, and .130 pigs. Prices were:—Fat ewes, unshorn 22s Gd to 25s 3d, shorn 17s 6d to 21s; fat lambs, 15s 6d to 17s 6d; shorn hoggets, 14s od to 14s 8d; failing-mouth ewes, unshorn, with lambs (all counted), 12s to 15s 3d. Cattle —Fat' steers, £9 to £9 2s 6d; fat cows, £6 to £9 7s 6d; two-year-old heifers, £5 to £5 13s; 12 to 18-months cattle, £3 to £4 ss; dairy cows, £5 to £9.
