Owing to illness the Riccarton trainer, W.C Clarke, has,had to give up work, and in consequence Mr D. Shaw has- placed his gelding Gnome tomporarilv with W.Bnsh, who is acting under Clarke's instructions until fresh arrangements are made. . • Some weeks ago Brown Trout received a kick which fractured one of his forelegs near tho knee.
