GAS WORKERS AND THE ARBITRATION BILL.
At a meeting of the Christchurch Gas Works Employees' Union the following resolution was passed:—"That in the opinion of this union the present amendments introduced by the Hon. W. F. Massey are in the direction of entirely reversing the objects for which the Act was originally put upon the Statute ' Book, and after carefully studying the proposed amendments we consider the uresent Government, being unsympathetic to Labour, should not in any way amend the Act. We are further of the opinion that these amendments constitute the most dastardly attempt to interfere with the liberty of the workers that has ever been "introduced in the history of New Zealand."
