(By Cable.—Press Association— Copyright.) LONDON, November 24,
Mr P. Amaury Talbot, District Commissioner for Southern Nigeria, in an interview, describes exploration in tho Eket district, where dwell the most bloodthirsty people in Africa. Their customs and ceremonies have remained unchanged from the days of ancient Egypt.
Secret societies still offer human sacrifices, and ono woman showed him fragments of a chaired bone, which she declared was her brother's.
Missionaries have complained to him of the maltreatment of school children by a seciety called thc "Ghostdestroyers." In ono case the missionaries rescued a girl about to be sacrificed.
The head priest is accustomed to make the announcement, "The ghosts will eat to-day."
