SERIOUS CHARGES BY AN ENGLISHMAN. (_y Cable.—Press Association—"Copyright.) (Received November 25th, 12.10 a.m.) LONDON, November 24. The Anti-Slavery Society has forwarded to the Foreign Office the depositions of an English traveller named Deniacre, who has visited regions in South America. Ho alleges the existence of horrors surpassing those in the Putumayo rlibbpr plantations.- He declares peonage exists, and that it is more cruel than slavery. The Hogging of Women and tho murder of Indian rubber workers is common. British subjects and capital are .deeply involved in, connexion with "the charges.
Mr Dehoukred, who was involved in Sir Roger Casement's reports on the Putumayo atrocities is now with Mr Deniacre and invites the Government to hold an enquiry. -
